The people of Muzium N9 is doing their own version of Laman Seni.
In a nutshell, it's like the Laman Seni in KL wif art stalls, car boot and performances, but wif more traditional crafts
.
It seems the 'delegates' from Laman Seni KL are clumped away at a location remote from the rest of the occasion. I prefer to think that this is a planning oversight - as the 2 location are just next to each other, if not for the 3 storey climb that separates them; rather than descrimination on the organizer's part (unlike some less forgiving sorts that I know of).
so, needless to say, next to nobody come to our booth (the MB & Rais Yatim tak kira la, diorang kene datang..) but we had fun visiting each other's booth. sounds a bit like incest, but so is the arts scene here I guess!

Not much going on. busy preparing the Ghostfinger Haunt Kit for Laman Seni Seremban (wait for pics of this). It consists of a bunch of stickers in a homemade paperbag. while I was making the paper bags,i realised how cool a piece of paper can be when it's folded with some glue & scissors. plain wicked.
oh, and just when you thought you've figured most thing in your life, something creeps along and prove you wrong.
i just found out that money can actually buy you 'Love'. Apparently, 'Love' is "Perfect for light use and is ideal for occasional use or shorter periods." ahh..that explains alot...

Sunlight on Concrete
|
|
|
Here's a bunch of old ones I took at Mutiara Damansara. It was a particularly sunny morning and I was on my way to find breakfast (which drags on to be brunch in the end..). Light and shade have always been my favourite subjects to photograph, but I can only capture so much with the equipment I have.

I've always wanted to do street bombing (or tagging) - you know, those stenciled, stickered graphics you see plastered on walls and whatnot. There're tons of people doing it all around the world and some of them are more than mere public property defacement, they've become a sort of urban art.
This is what I aspire to do with my series of stickers featuring the character "Ghostfinger". the idea for the character came quite recently when I was commenting an artwork by a colleague which featured a middle finger (a generally "rude" gesture). In Malay, the middle finger is called jari hantu; when literally translated to English, you get "ghost finger". When I realized this, the image sort of suggest itself: a severed middle finger with a ghastly face on the nail.
So how is posting rude stickers in public places "art"?
Frankly, I don't know. . I just like the idea of masking tongue in cheek profanity behind cutesy imagery. Hey, at least the image is rather vague, thus creating enigma hence provoking dialogue to the more enquiring of minds. There, that sounds pretty much like an artistic justification now, doesn't it? Who would've thought..?

let's start this thing off with..Laman Seni March 2005
|
|
right. let me get this off of my chest: i can't bear it anymore, i just had to have a FotoPage! been snap-happy for quite a while, but the idea of coding my own fotosite is just not feasible.
so let's get the show on the road..
spent the whole of saturday in Laman Seni March 2005.
the event was so-so, but i had a blast cuz i met a whole lot of old friends & people i haven't met in a while. been hanging at the Umbra/Pergh.com booth, but mostly i was walking about doing..stuff.
